‘Bridgerton’ star Phoebe Dynevor models for Self-Portrait

From corsets to cocktail dresses.

“Bridgerton” leading lady Phoebe Dynevor, who plays Daphne Bridgerton on the record-breaking Netflix hit, has landed her first fashion campaign, starring in London label Self-Portrait’s new Fall 2021 campaign.

In the images, shot by British photographer Nigel Shafran, the 25-year-old actress poses at home in the brand’s bestselling “Azaelea” dress ($390) in petrol blue, along with a cream lace “Camellia” midi ($530) that wouldn’t look entirely out of place on the “Bridgerton” set.

Other looks featured in the shots include a puff-sleeved, pumpkin-colored top paired with cranberry cords, a white embellished party dress and a lilac cardigan set with pearl buttons.

Dynevor told UK’s The Times that her first modeling experience was “weird,” explaining, “I had to stay very still, so I had to rein it back.” The clothes were also a far cry from the Regency styles she sports for her day job.

“With Daphne half the work was done for me once I was cinched into that corset,” she explained. “Immediately, because of the way the corset is fitted, your posture is held back, which means your head’s up, and you are moving in a certain way. Without the clothes I don’t think I would have been able to be her to the same degree. I wouldn’t have been able to feel like her.”

Added the star, “I was lucky because I only had a half-corset. I didn’t mind it, but anything that restricts my boobs I would never do in real life. I like my boobs being free.”

Off set, Dynevor goes for a more “androgynous” aesthetic. “I have been wearing a lot of track suits,” she said. “And caps and boots. The anti-Daphne. I mean, that’s how I roll anyway, but it helps me feel very separate from her.”

“Bridgerton” has already been renewed for Season 2.
